  Music on Mondays: Brahmstoberfest!
(Music/Theatre/Dance)

Clarinetist Yevgeny Dokshansky and pianist Hsiang Tu will kick off the 2020 "Music on Mondays" series with a duo recital featuring exclusively the works by the German Romantic composer Johannes Brahms (1833-1897).

Brahms' much-revered and beloved Sonatas Nos. 1 and 2 for Clarinet and Piano epitomize the genre with their unmatched lyricism and masterful writing for both instruments. To hear one is a treat, but both in one concert is a chance not to be missed! The rest of the program will be complemented by a premiere of Dokshansky's transcription of Brahms' Lieder, Op. 70 - originally for voice and piano - for clarinet and piano.

The concert has a special starting time for each half of the program due to considerations of COVID-19 safety protocols: the first half will start at 7 pm; the intermission will be 30-minute long, from approximately 7:30 pm to 8 pm; and the second half will start shortly after 8 pm.
