  E. Patrick Johnson "Making Sweet Tea" Screening
(Movie/Film)

Please join the Center for Humanities for a screening of E. Patrick Johnson's award-winning documentary "Making Sweet Tea." The film chronicles the journey of southern-born, black gay researcher and performer, E. Patrick Johnson, as he travels home to North Carolina to come to terms with his past and to Georgia, New Orleans and Washington DC to reconnect with six black gay men he interviewed for his book "Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South - An Oral History." Blurring the line between art and life, "Making Sweet Tea" offers a rare glimpse into the lives of people rarely given a platform to speak, while also demonstrating how research, artistry, and life converge.

For a screening link to the film, please RSVP by navigating to the Center for Humanities' web page linked below. The film's run time is 90 minutes.

Along with this screening, the Center for Humanities will have a live discussion with E. Patrick Johnson on Tuesday, September 8th from 3-5pm via the center's YouTube LIVE page. More information is available on the Center for Humanities' website linked below.
