Join us for this community event!

Once just the domain of imaginative stories, artificial intelligence is a technology greatly influencing how we work, the products we buy, and how our society flourishes. In this talk, Dr. Giles will discuss what is meant when we say "AI" and present examples of not only wats AI can help us, but also challenges with AI we should think carefully about as we rush to build super robots and intelligent devices.

Kendall Giles received his PhD in computer science from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Giles has over 20 years of industry work experience in government and for companies such as General Electric and Raytheon in software and systems engineering roles. He has taught university courses in areas such as cybersecurity, computer architecture, machine learning data analytics, statistics, and programming. His interests include cybersecurity, machine learning, data science, the history of technology, and science, technology and society.
