I Don't Trust the Camera, but I Do Trust You: Film, Displacement, and the Future
(Seminar/Conference)
This talk will focus on the emotional histories and sense of resilience that are often part of migratory displacement: refuge, exile, and belonging. Showing excerpts from his films, Dr. Yehuda Sharim, will speak about the role of the camera in visualizing new forms of activism. In this showing, he will explore how new paths of vision might allow us to contemplate and reflect on our challenges as immigrants and refugees in the US, including the relentless and fragile negotiation between home/homes, absence/presence, and then/now/tomorrow.
