  Artist Gallery Talk and Reception, Wornie Reed: Sweet Soul Music  
(Arts)

Wornie Reed, Professor of Africana Studies and Sociology, and Director of Virginia Tech's Race and Social Policy Research Center, believes that a culture survives best with its music thrives.

Sweet Soul Music, an exhibition of photographs documenting Black musical culture in Boston and New York between 1971 and 1974, captures a particularly rich period of Black musical performance.
