The New Perennial Movement and Why It Matters
(Special Event)

Join the Hahn Horticulture Garden on the evening of February 6th for a talk from Paul Westervelt, Annual and Perennial Production Manager for Saunders Brothers, Inc. since 2004. Paul's talk will cover the perennial counter movement that embraces a more natural look and a different pallet of plants while creating beneficial habitat and food for pollinators.

Paul grew up in Winchester, VA across from a multi-acre Oehme van Sweden garden. He has a B.S. and M.S. in Horticulture from Virginia Tech (2001 and 2003 respectively). Free time not spent gardening is spent visiting gardens and landscapes around the country and abroad. Paul lives and gardens with his wife and two children (propagules) on their farm in central VA.

This event is $5 for Friends of the Garden/students and $15 for the general public. Contact vtgarden@vt.edu by Feb. 1st to register.
